Ideal Job Resume Format

1. Personal Information

  • Your name and title

  • Contact number, email id, social media accounts, home address

2. Career Objective

Define your career or objective in short and crisp language.

Example-

  • Enthusiastic marketing manager looking to reach and enhance revenue targets at XYZ company. I have proficiency in visual social media marketing. I also have experience of developing 15 wireframes for small firms.

Make sure you are including the name of the company and the job title you are applying for in your career objective.

3. Professional Experience

The resume content here should include-

  • Your most recent job, title, and role in bullet points.

  • Then follow the same format for the job or jobs held previously to this.

  • Share numbers instead of vague ‘increased sales’.

  • Finish off with your best achievement

As a manager or a fresher, you may have handled many duties during your employment or internship, but you need to include only relevant tasks in your resume to keep it short and effective.

Example-

Digital Marketing Manager

XYZ company

May 2019- August 2022 (for a fresher the period will be in months- e.g., Internship from May 2019- August 2019)

Managed web branding and distributed platforms for a reputed marketing firm

Led sales and business development teams for branding consistency for clients.

Decreased churn by 30% and increased customer online campaign rates by 25%.

Special achievements –

Increased landing page conversions by 115% by introducing an A/B testing competition among team members.

4. Education

  • Degree Name

  • Specializations

  • Institute name

  • Year of completion

Example-

  • Bachelor in Marketing and Advertising

  • Digital marketing, branding, social media

  • XYZ university

  • 2015

5. Skills

Hard skills

  • CRO

  • SEO

  • Data analysis

Soft skills

  • Oral and written communication

  • Problem-solving

  • Leadership

  • Attention to details

6. Cover Letter

Consider a cover letter as a story you tell your potential employers. By story, we don’t mean you lie but speak about your journey in a catchy manner. Including a cover letter with your resume is more likely to be considered than one without.

Example-

  • I am a sales/digital/content marketing manager having 4 years of experience and am looking to join hands with you. I have the education and experience to know the pulse of this industry- how it works, what makes its heart stop, and how to keep it alive and thriving. I hope together we can reach new audiences and keep them growing.

You see, a cover letter adds a spark to your application and one without it can be pretty dull and may even face rejection.
